With the brewery Rivière d’Ain, surprise and pleasure are always present. And their beer “Hiver” (winter) is not an exception.
It’s a french brune with red reflexions (6,9%).
Firstly, the beer will surprise you because of the fragrance of caramel and licorice (Zan)… but also chewing gum with menthol of my childhood.
Why such flavors in a winter beer ?
In fact it’s perfectly adapted.
Because the slightly acidic freshness of mint goes very well with the notes of cooked caramel and licorice with a hint of torefaction in a beautiful smooth honey taste which is not sweet.
It will turn your winter in sweeter way especially if you drink it near the fire.
